Altered Teapots

I joined the Everything But ATC's yahoo group and participated in my first challenge with that group which was to alter a given teapot shape in a choice of themes selected for the month of March. I decided to particiapte in all 4 themes and really enjoyed the teapot shape because it is so different from anything I have done before, and I have a fondness for the whole tea party theme - tea cups, teapots, etc.

Vintage Swappers - ATC's

These ATC's were created for the Vintage Swappers group which I belong to in swap-bot.
This card required mixed media, using at least 3 different types of media. I used acrylic paint, rub-ons, glaze pens, distress inks, patterned paper, vintage die-cuts, and rubber stamps.

For the bird ATC challenge I used vintage images, rubber stamps, glaze pens, distress inks, and white souffle pen.
For the time ATC challenge I used vinatge papers, rubber stamps, sharpie pen, copic markers, distress inks, chalk inks, and glaze pens.

Zentangle Name

This was my first zentangle attempt. This was a swap-bot swap and you were given someones name and had to make an ATC for each letter of their name and do each letter in zentangle style.

mermaid chunky book

back of page                     front of page

This was a black chipboard chunky book page swap I did with one of my yahoo swap groups. The theme was mermaids and I used the top half of a paper doll for my mermaid torso and then drew the tail and underwater scenery which I colored with copic markers. Patterned paper, fancy cut borders from K and Com., resin water drops and splashes, bling, beaded fringe, a manatee photo because in ancinet times sailors believed that manatees were mermaids; I added an origami fish I folded, and finished it off with lots of seaweed colored fibers.

cube designs

3 for 3 swap at ATC's for ALL forum, cube design challenge. The hostess gave us this blank design and we had to come up with three different approaches. I used copic markers, gel pens, metallic gel pens and ultra fine tip sharpie markers.

Whimsical Neighborhoods

ATC's using sharpie markers. This whisical neighborhood was created for a 3 for 3 swap at the ATC's for ALL forum.  I liked the fun nature of the idea, the bright colors, and the way I continued my scene across all three cards.

Birthday DAK's

I signed up to do birthday DAK's with my yahoo group - Fabric in Altered Art as a way to force myself to use more fabric in my art.  I found this doll idea in Cloth Paper Scissors magazine the Sept/Oct 2009 issue and it had a post it note marking the page and I had left it sitting on my end table(okay for a year and a half) so I wouldn't forget it completely. I try to mark what I want to go back to and will look over my marked articles occasionally to see if I want to try
anything. This time I actually made something!!!
The article is called "Art Doll Evloution"
by Debbie Crane, page 26. So here are my first
versions of these cute little dolls.
