Junkyard Art

Sunday morning, last class at the Glass Art and Bead convention in Madison, WI.  For this class we worked with wire - 18ga, 20ga, and 22ga.  We had to bring out treasure stash - old jewelry, buttons, rummage sale finds, beads, whatever we had at home that we wanted to try and incorporate into this piece.  I used old keys, bits of jewelry, buttons, resin beads shaped like dominoes, dice, old typewriter keys, some metal tags I picked up at a garage sale that looked like they came from key tags from a swimming pool locket basket, and some copper beads.  I used 4 colors of wire - copper, bronze, gold, and black.  I actually got this piece done in class and wore it home.  Very pleased with the results.

Resin Relics

Saturday morning at the Art Glass and Bead Convention in Madison, WI.  This class was so much fun.  We used a two part molding compound used by the medical profession for taking casts of ears to fit people for hearing aides.  This was a great product, smooth, soft, easy to work with and capable of excellent detail.  We used objects like dolls body parts, metal ornamental pieces, bits of jewelry, old keys and the gal I sat next to let me mold a piece of metal soldier she found with her metal detector.  Next we learned how to use Resin Ice a two part resin and were given the option of adding color with paint, chalk, or pearlex powders.  We could also add glitter, beads, mica, and bits of paper.  Can't wait to see how these look after they cure.

Crop Circles Cuff Bracelet

What fun!!! Friday morning at the Glass Art and Bead Convention in Madison, WI.  This is as far as I got in the 3 hours of class time.  This is a freeform beaded embroidery cuff. I really like the idea of not having a pattern and letting the bracelet become what it will be.

Lyric and Laurel Dolls

This is another online doll class that I am taking.  This is a mixed media doll and the bodies are wine bottles.  The base layer starts with using lace and doilies.  This is fun and easy so far.  I really enjoy mixed media and am excited to see how these shape up.

Queen of Hearts

My queen now has a head.
Haven't needle sculpted for over 20 years.
I think it went pretty good. Now on to the next step.
