Artist Inspired Doll 3

Inspired by Megan Noel
This was a mixed media piece with a minimum requirement of 3 different media. It also had to emulate the style of a specific artist - Megan Noel.  I started by drawing a face using a Sharpie pen. Next I used black and white patterned washi tape for the hair and and red and white patterned washi tape for the body. I added a square of black and white fabric tape to the bottom left, then took black paint and added some leaves, and other black line designs around it.  I also painted more black line designs over the hair to soften the washi designs and get more control over the direction of my hair pattern.  We were also required to add embellishments so I created a leaf from black 24 ga. wire to repeat the leaf design the artist uses in many of her works..

Artist Inspired Doll 2

Inspired by Pablo Picasso
This was a mixed media piece with a minimum requirement of 3 different media. It also had to emulate the style of a specific artist - Pablo Picasso, so I used multiple colors on the skin and very simplified lines and shapes for the body and clothing designs..  We were also required to add embellishments so I used a blue and red fibers to continue the design of the dress.  I used 2 vintage moon faces, a front view and a side view, adding in the same paint colors I used for the skin on the neck and chest.  The body and dress were also hand painted.

Artist Inspired Doll 1

In the Style of Gustave Klimt
This was a mixed media piece with a minimum requirement of 3 different media. It also had to emulate the style of a specific artist - Gustave Klimt, so I used lots of gold and geometric patterns.  We were also required to add embellishments so I used a beaded gold coin fringe that I had. The face I used was from Graphic 45's tropical line, I used paint on the body, and added some square shaped bling down the left side.
