Matchboxes

These matchboxes were created from scratch using free templates that I found online and colorful scrapbook paper. This swap was for the Altered_stArt Yahoo group. There was an open theme and we could make up to 6 matchboxes to swap. I digitally colorized some bingo images I had to match the colors of my scrapbook paper.  The images of people are from alteredpages.com. Since my matchox covers were game themed I filled my matchboxes with game pieces from my stash.

Domino Ornaments

This was an ornament swap, we had to incorporate at least one domino. I used Alcohol Inks on the backgrounds, then I stamped a tree across the three dominoes with clear pigment ink and which I sprinkled with gold embossing powder.  After the trees were embossed I used wire to connect the dominoes together. I added beaded fringe to the bottom, mini buttons for ornaments on the trees, and mini scrabble tiles for the words. For the hanger I used glass beads, vintage resin beads, and twisted wire.

Precious Moments Christmas Banner

My secret santa this year collects Precious Moments figurines. I found the Precious Moments alphabet coloring pages and colored them using shades of red and green and a few pastels. The banner pieces ended up being approx. 4 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size. Edger punches, stickers, bling, and fibers finished this cute banner off.  She loved it. and said she planned to hang it across her fireplace mantel.

Snow Fairy ATC's

My snow fairies ended up in a very "chibi" style. I tried several different things that ended up looking too "elf-y", so decided that the chibi style worked best for my snow fairies.

Healing Doll

front view                   inside view                 inside dolls
This was a one for one healing doll swap and you were assigned a partner and your partner told you what they needed healing for.  My partner wanted financial healing so I used currency from different countries around the world to cover a cigar box. I used wire and beads to create the arms and legs. Ribbon for the blouse, beaded fringe for the skirt and earrings, and polymer clay and pushmolds to create the faces which I "painted" with nail polish because of the rich shiny color finish.  Inside the cigar box I placed 5 more flat dolls.  Each a different type of currency mounted on foamcore, wrapped with wire and beads or pieces of jewelry.
