For this swap we needed to use the Oaxacan style of patterned animal sculptures to create real or imaginary animal paper dolls. Each doll had to have at least 3 movable joints. I built my animal dolls out of cereal box cardboard, patterned scrapbook paper and metal brads. Sharpie markers were used to add facial features and even more design work to each animal.

Toilet Paper Tube Book Pages
pages 1 and 2
pages 3 and 4
pages 5 and 6
pages 7 and 8
I check out the profile of my swap partner who liked vintage images which is why I chose the cigar box labels; she liked the zetti style so I added wings, hats, and black and white borders and lots of black and white washi tapes; and she also liked flowers so I added the felt flowers to help chunk things up. The inside tags have a border of washi tape, one side has a zetti style woman and the other side I left blank so that my swap partner could use them for journaling, more zetti art, or photos as she desired.

Toilet Paper Tube Book
front cover
back cover
Mini Art Journal created for the Bright and Colorful Swappers group at swap-bot. This was a 1:1 swap with minimum requirements being that it had to be bright and colorful, use at least 3 tubes and at least 2 pull out tags. I decided to use 5 tubes and created a colorful tag for each tube/pocket. I used scrapbook papers, cardstock, washi tape, felt flowers with bling, sharpie marker, and images of vintage cigar box labels.
