Mermaid Pocket Letter

This all started with my card kit subscription to Spellbinders which I subscribed to when I say this super cute little mermaid (bottom left). This also gave me a chance to use a bunch of mermaid and underwater creature stamps that I had never had a chance to use.  I used a mermaid paper collection that I got from Michael's, lots of mermaid washi tape, stamps, die cuts, markers, and colored pencils.

APC's - Postage 6's

I decided to use water lily stamps from Vietnam, so went with blue patterned papers for "water", then I cut out lily pads from green patterned papers then cut out lily blossoms from red, pink and yellow papers, black Sharpie pen for added detail.

I dug through all my die cuts looking for some birds and then decided to use more die cuts for the background.

I decided on dinosaur postage stamps for this set. I freehand cut a palm tree shape to fill in the blank space on the background, then added Tiny Type sticker letters to name each dino.

I tried something different this time and used washi tape to cover the entire background of the playing card except for the exposed number and suit in the corner as required.  I found these gorgeous cat stamps which paired well with the cat washi tape that I used.  As a finishing touch I drew a ball of unraveling yarn on patterned paper and did a bit of fussy cutting to create my own one of a kind image.

Patterned papers, washi tape, chicken images, and a kitchen tool die cut.  So how did I correlate kitchen tools to chickens?  I was thinking retro farmhouse and tied my farm chickens with my farmhouse which led me to farm kitchen which led to the kitchen tools.
