Paris in Winter ATC triptych

Here is my triptych all folded up and held closed with a black paper fastener. I used stamps, a black sharpie, colored pencil, dark sparkle pen, and copic markers.

The first side folds back to reveal the dress form and the word fashion. I used a stamp for the image, colored pencil, dark sparkle pen, and gel pens.

Completely open, my triptych features a single stamped image on each panel with drifts of snow establishing the ground and horizon and connecting all the panels together visually. I drew with black sharpie pen, colored with color pencil, detailed with gel pen and souffle pen, stamped mini snowflakes and highlighted all the snow with clear sparkle pen.  The three panels were joined together using Tim Holtz's tissue tape.

Celestial Banner

I was asked to create a celestial banner for someone who likes the theme of the sun, the moon, and the stars.  Purple was the base color I chose and the color I used for the fibers that connected the pieces together.  Here are some close - up views of each piece from left to right.

Winter Rosettes

Okay, I grabbed Tim Holtz's other rosette die that makes two sizes smaller, so I made up a bunch of all three sizes using some winter themed paper.

Mannequin Swap

For this swap we were asked to create a mannequin that reflected who we are and what our interests are.

Front - I really like retro and vintage images so I stitched on several pictures of women from my photo collections.  I added some flower buttons across the middle because I collect buttons and have all kinds of flowers - paper, stamps, stickers.  Around the neck I used glass beads because I love beading and I collect snowmen and I have quite a few snowflake stamps, so my beads are snowflakes and snowmen.  I added a metal key charm, yes I have collected antique keys and key stamps.

Back - On the back I have some butterfly buttons to hint at my collection of butterfly stamps.  Then more buttons and flowers made out of paper to hit an my enormous paper collection.  Then another retro image - a travel poster this time.  I added a metal hand charm to show my passion for creating things by hand.  I used felt as my fabric to hint at my fabric obsession.

Across the bottom is a sequined fringe, gotta love dangly stuff, I add beaded fringe or fibers or ribbon to a lot of projects and decided on the spangled fringe to show that interest. 

At the top I used a wire hanger - yes I like wire too.

Gothic Arches - part 3

These last two black and white arches are my favorites of the series.  I drew three dimensional blocks to spell out d-o-l-l and I like that it was different than using another scroll even though I really like the look of the scrolls, I was glad to have some variety.  The outside border on the teddy bears was from a sewing stamp set and is actually the label from a spool of thread.  It was a challenge to hunt through my stamps and look for small shapes that could be used as a design element beyond their actual intent.

Here are two more or my black and white arches.  The triangular stamp I used in the "little darling" doll arch was a banner stamp and I thought it worked really well as a border.

Gothic Arches - part 1

These are the first two of a series of black and white gothic arches I am working on for a swap.  I decided to use antique toy images for the focal point.  I stamped with black ink around the edges of the arch and used black markers and warm and cool gray copic markers to create borders and designs within the arch.  In the telephone arch the banner I used was a stamp but due to its small size I had to draw a bigger one for the buggy arch.
